2) How do WTO's decisions and laws/rules interfere in the International Business negotiations?
ReplyDeleteThe objective of WTO is to help trade flow as freely as possible — so long as there are no undesirable side effects — because this is important for economic development and well-being enter the countries. They try to removing obstacles, it means ensuring that individuals, companies and governments know what the trade rules are around the world, and giving them the confidence that there will be no sudden changes of policy. In other words, the rules have to be ‘transparent’ and predictable. In the WTC have so many countries belonging and they need to agreements in comum, including those painstakingly negotiated in the WTO system, often need interpreting. The most harmonious way to settle these differences is through some neutral procedure based on an agreed legal foundation. That is the purpose behind the dispute settlement process written into the WTO agreements.

ReplyDeleteThe election of Azevedo is important for Brazil because it is expected that the new Director review the procedures for decision-making of the WTO and also facilitate access of developing countries, which is the case of Brazil, in the global market. The election to the office of the Brazilian also help Brazil in relation to the BRICS economic bloc that is now one of the main blocks of developing countries in the world. ReplyDelete1) What's the importance for Brazil of Azevêdo being appointed Director-General of WTO?
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, having a brazilian as Director-General at WTO is something new and unusual and very good for the image of our country, which increasingly has had good things to be exposed to the world. We must end the image that Brazil is a jungle, and show that we can be a first world country, a developed country. Having a Brazilian as Director-General of a major organization like the omc is a great example of our progress as a country that will only grow.

2) How do WTO's decisions and laws/rules interfere in the International Business negotiations?
ReplyDeleteThe WTO Agreements contain special provisions which give developing countries special rights and which give developed countries the possibility to treat developing countries more favorably than other WTO Members. These special provisions include, for example, longer time periods for implementing Agreements and commitments or measures to increase trading opportunities for developing countries.
These provisions are referred to as “special and differential treatment” provisions.
The special provisions include:
· longer time periods for implementing Agreements and commitments,
· measures to increase trading opportunities for these countries,
· provisions requiring all WTO members to safeguard the trade interests of developing countries,
· support to help developing countries build the infrastructure for WTO work, handle disputes, and implement technical standards, and
· provisions related to Least-Developed country (LDC) Members.

2) How do WTO's decisions and laws/rules interfere in the International Business negotiations?
ReplyDeleteThe WTO helps to promote the stability of the global economy through the dispute settlement system. The goal is to provide security and predictability to the multilateral trading system. Disputes between countries arise when one country adopts a trade policy measure or something that makes one or more WTO members consider that violates the agreements of the organization itself. This way, prevents some countries be prejudiced with respect to international business, directly impacting imports and exports.

2) How do WTO's decisions and laws/rules interfere in the International Business negotiations?
ReplyDeleteThe importance of the WTO is very evident when we talk about international business negotiations, the WTO's rules and laws interfere directly in every aspect of the negotiotions between the countrys, making it a more easy and fair way to develop the exportantion and importation process in the trades.
If the international negotiations of a country results on benefits to it, what means is that it will have a huge influence on the economic growth of the country, on simple words, the laws and rules of the WTO doesn't interfere only into the international negotiations of a country, but in its development.

1) What's the importance for Brazil of Azevêdo being appointed Director-General of WTO?
ReplyDeleteIn spite of Roberto Carvalho de Azevêdo assumes the presidency in the end of August of this year, his choice as Director - General of WTO is of basic importance for Brazil. Our country has something that most of the countries want, he is at present one of the biggest exporters of farming products of the world, and is exatamente for this motive that all the countries are always with looking monitar for the agricultural politics of Brazil. Recently Canada and the States lifted questionamentos on the Flat program Biggest Brazil, affirming which programs I eat this one they can be helping Brazil to become stronger, the Brazilian answer was that the government hardly altered the methodology of calculation of the contribution and that it does not the question be a subsidy.
With Azevêdo in the command accusations as it is will not have left, it is going to help the country to be defended and to manage to reach benefits that before were given only to the most developed countries.

ReplyDeleteThe appointing of Roberto Azevedo as Director-General of the WTO is of great importance to Brazil, because in addition to representing Brazil in the organization that makes decisions on trade disputes between countries, he’s the first Brazilian to lead the WTO and for belonging to an emerging country, he may provide a world economic order that's fairer and more dynamic. Azevedo is also known for his ability to negotiate, which will help in trade relations between Brazil and other countries.
R.A 12.2008-6
4) How can WTO's documents and resources be useful for an International Business student?
ReplyDeleteThey may be important in the sense that we know how to negotiate with other countries because other countries represent other cultures and they must be respected. It is also important to consider that as well as Brazil, other countries have laws and rules that must be respected and Brazil to negotiate with these countries must have an understanding of it and accept the rules and laws of other countries. The WTO has important points to be discussed in classrooms and are important documents for our learning.

1) What's the importance for Brazil of Azevêdo being appointed Director-General of WTO?
ReplyDeleteBeing ahead of the main World Trade Organisation, it is crucial that the director has experience in negotiations and foreign affairs and diplomatic, given that the WTO is one of the organizations frontline of international politics. One of the challenges of managing director is currently unlock the Doha Round, currently an impasse in the WTO. It is negotiating a package of new rules on liberalization and trade facilitation. Frustrated by this stoppage, many countries started to seek expansion of trade with bilateral and regional agreements.

1) What's the importance for Brazil of Azevêdo being appointed Director-General of WTO?
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the marginalization of the WTO is now so deep that business groups rarely visit the entity to request or suggest modifications in the rules. Azevedo can strengthen the multilateral trading system, resuming the Doha Round negotiations, so that member countries may enjoy a competitive advantage and better negotiations between them.

1) What's the importance for Brazil of Azevêdo being appointed Director-General of WTO?
ReplyDeleteThe election of Ambassador Azevedo is the fruit of the most successful campaign ever undertaken by the Brazilian Government, is not a victory for Brazil or a group of countries but the WTO, he longer represents Brazil, but the world! The WTO is at a very critical stage. Negotiations are completely stops. Azevêdo currency war will put on the agenda at the WTO, the experience and expertise it will help the organization in defense of transparency and respect for multilateral trade rules and the resumption of negotiations in the Doha Round. It is no longer a matter of getting what you want, but to save what we have. I believe to be a very good situation for the country, it will be recognized and respected.
